Manchester City Newcastle United Tottenham Handed Blow In Morgan Gibbs White Chase

Manchester City, Newcastle United, Tottenham handed blow in Morgan Gibbs-White chase

Frustrating Deadline Day for Premier League Trio

Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all reportedly been handed a blow in their pursuit of highly-rated Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Premier League trio have been heavily linked with a move for the England Under-21 international in recent weeks as they look to strengthen their squads ahead of the 2023/24 season but were disappointed on Deadline Day.

Gibbs-White 'extremely happy' at Wolves

According to The Athletic, Gibbs-White is 'extremely happy' at Wolves and would be reluctant to leave the club. He has impressed for Wolves, contributing six goals and three assists in 26 Premier League appearances.

The report continues to state Gibbs-White would rather stay at Molineux and continue his development under Julen Lopetegui, who took over as Wolves manager in November.

Wolves confident of keeping Gibbs-White

Wolves chiefs are also confident of keeping Gibbs-White beyond the summer. They believe he represents a key part of their long-term plans and are eager to retain his services.

Should his desire materialize, Gibbs-White could pen a new deal at Wolves, with his contract expiring in 2024. He was part of Wolves' squad as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United on New Year’s Eve.
